Nissan isn’t the only company to get an outrageously priced performance SUV this month – Infiniti will be pricing its FX Sebastian Vettel Edition at $120,000 euro, or about $160,000.
With 24 extra horsepower massaged from the 5.0L V8 (for a total of 414 bhp), top speed is now an incomprehensible 186 mph, but the 0-60 time is “only” 5.6 seconds – at this point I’d like to take the satisfaction away from the commenters in noting that a sub-$30k Toyota Camry V6 is just as fast in the sprint to 60.
A carbon fiber bodykit and bespoke wheels are the main changes, but somehow the sum seems far less than the parts.

Wow, with 24 horsepower massaged from the 5.0 v8 for a total of 24 horsepower, this thing would probably beat my lawn service’s Dixie Chopper in terms of performance!
(I’m sure they will fix the error, but it was there at the time of publication :) ).
In all seriousness, doesn’t Mercedes have an AMG version of their GL class that’s a lot cheaper than this? What could they have been thinking?

So instead of the logical choice to celebrate one of the greatest drivers of our generation, the hypothetical Nissan GTR-Vettel. We get a car that’s pretty much as far from Formula one you can get because Infinity’s sales in Europe are awful? Nicely played Nissan. I wonder when Mercedes will debut the “Stirling Moss GL”, and Audi the “LeMans Q7”?
If I remember correctly, they went with the Infiniti FX for the Vettel edition because he actually owned and used one as his personal vehicle.
Man, it took years to get people to avoid the old “just use direct currency translation” stupidity, which completely ignores things like VAT (included in European prices) or the general lower level of car prices in the US. Seems like every new generation of writers is destined to repeat the old mistakes…
Ok knock 20% off for VAT, and say $1 = 1 euro. It still costs 4 times as much as any sane person should pay for something that ugly.

the people who will pay for a 4,400lb 5.0 litre v8 Japanese SUV that does MPG in the teens IN EUROPE is literally the 1%… people with enough money and less brains than to sink it into a gold standard like a Porsche or other German…

Somehow I can’t see Aryton Senna lending his name to an AWD grocery-getter. Though I know Vettel actually owns one of these, couldn’t they have put his name on a G37s coupe perhaps?
