The Audi S3 promises 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque from its 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Err, wait a second. That’s not the hot hatch you are looking for. The real pictures are below. You can tell it’s the real thing because of the LED headlights. That’s what makes it premium, dontchaknow?

So that’s where Saab’s engineers went after its bankruptcy.
S3 is not quattro(not even the Haldex based quattro?)?
You can get the A3 with quattro so I’d be surprised if it wasn’t available on the S3.
If it truly doesn’t offer it and you truly need it there’s the MK VII Golf R which will offer similar power numbers though I’m not sure what kind if AWD unit it will have.
No, the S3 is quattro just like every other S car before it.
And Haldex is just another AWD system. Audi has used many different kinds over the years. quattro is just a badge they slap on the car.
I understand that, but the title of this post makes no sense….if S3 is AWD, what does Front drive or SRT-4 Caliber has anything to do with it?
Because its power levels are similar to that of the Caliber SRT4, but it’s an Audi. Not sure on the AWD thing.
It makes as much sense as saying a Taurus is making SRT-4 power or a WRX STI is making SRT-4 power or a F150….Poor choice of title is poor…
the point that the title is making is that the SRT4 caliber came out in ’08 – the audi S3 isn’t exactly pushing the limits of pocket rocket HP numbers in 2012. c’mon people, not a difficult concept to grasp here!
