Jack thinks Porsche may have ripped off the Ford Taurus X with their new Panamera Sport Turismo concept. I say the taillights are a rip-off of the 1993 Mazda RX-7.

Looks more like the Dodge Dart to me.

Agreed. The bar-like tail lamps are more reminiscent of a Dart. If they were circular then it would very much resemble an FD.
They all borrowed from the 180SX.
So let me get this straight:
1. Porsche released a station wagon and therefore ripped off the 7-year-old Taurus X?
2. Porsche ripped off the 19-year-old RX-7 because they designed taillights that, at some angles, are vaguely similar?
3. It’s prudent to compare overall performance of the new S3 to the 4-year-old Caliber SRT-4 turd because both are hatchbacks and the engines are similar on the dyno?
I think I’ll stay away from TTAC for a while.

Derek,
Fun job, ain’t it?
I mean we shouldn’t complain too much, the gig can be fun, but some readers don’t quite understand just how much work goes into having fresh and diverse content for them to read.
I’m with you LeMansteve. There is a point where sarcasm and bitterness not only become unfunny, but unpleasant to read. It just feels like negativity for the sake of it and is a shame when the rest of the site is so good.
Looks like a flattened Cayenne.
What are the differences with regards the interior? The Panamera is (sorta kinda) an estate wagon to start with (ok, shooting brake, whatevs.) I can only assume that mangling the rear of the car so badly (I said something derogatory about Porsche, I presume I get credit for that?) allowed for some major interior enhancement … a third set of seats? A jacuzzi? What the heck is going on back there?
This is a much prettier ride than Panamera. I might place my order if it is diesel powered.
