Spy photographer Bark M strikes again! Well, actually, this is the first time he’s struck. Any guesses as to what it is? For reference, our man spotted this vehicle outside Auburn Hills. What’s throwing us off is that there’s no Alfa Romeo bodywork clumsily attached to the rest of the car…

I no real clue. But it looks about the right size and height to be a replacement to the Dodge Jorney.
Looks like a new Hyundai Santa Fe type something.
Probably the KL Cherokee. They hadn’t planned on removing the camo until the official unveil at the end of the month, so the mules and prototypes likely still cruise with it on.
That beltline is a dead giveaway: this is the next-gen Jeep Cherokee…it of the horrifyingly fresh new face. Note that even NetCarShow doesn’t have shots of the rear end yet:

I will stick my neck out and say Ford Edge 2015.
There is a very similar-looking camouflaged VW prowling M-59 — smallish SUV, looks about the width and height of a new Escape, a little longer. I tried to catch him, but he saw the iphone go up and moved behind me.
FWIW, I saw a uncamouflaged Alfa Romeo Giuletta on the Southfield Fwy the other day and yesterday Jalopnik posted pics taken in Ann Arbor of three Alfa 4Cs out testing.
Aren’t CUVs already self-camoflaging? You’d have to drive a CamCord to be less noticable.
Probably either the new Cher-icky, or Journey replacement? Either way not something I want.
Most likely the 2015 Wrangler. Heh.
I don’t get the camoflauge, it’s just another ho hum CUV, no one would notice anything different without it on!
EDIT: As said above their self camoflauging
+!
Totally agree. Just another inflated pop can of generic CUV dimensions.
What *would* get my attention and ultimately my money would be anything with an old Trooper-type greenhouse.
I saw GM testing their Cadillac Volt (Ampera?). Four of them with a Chevy Volt in the middle on the 605. Two days later at night, I see the new S-class or C-class in full camo on the 605. Sizewise, it looked like an E-class, but the greenhouse was like the S-class. I also see tons of Benzes testing near my house along Seal Beach and Bolsa Chica near Boeing. I saw the new ML at least 4-5 months before its debut, and lots of times I’ll see 5 or 6 new silver mid-sized sedans from all sorts of manufacturers driving in series with dealer plates. I wonder what that is about? Maybe testing MPG? I love seeing spy cars. I get a rush seeing them. I’d be a spy car photographer if I ever won the lottery.
I’m gonna guess lexus rx.
Some type of Buick CUV?
Why are we still taking “pictures” when we have VIDEO mode?
Maybe because still photos can be (and usually are) much higher quality than video. “HD” would be pretty poor resolution for a still photo.
Jeep Chrerokee. I saw a similar mule on EC Row Expressway in Windsor, Ontario (across from Detroit) a few weeks back.
When they hit the road dress to the nines in camo, especially in urban areas, arent they begging for “spy shots”?
Well it will be forgotten about the day after it rolls out by enthusiasts, have to get a little bit of interest before to justify it’s production
It looks like it has a solid beam rear axle, so Jeep or any other upscale CUV is out. Entry level Dodge? They need a low cost, volume replacement for the Caliber, but what to call it, after resurrecting “Dart”? Maybe it’s the new Dodge Omni!
