A quarter of a century ago, Ari Vanaten attacked Pikes Peak in the legendary Peugeot 405 T16, and the resulting footage of the attempt led to the renowned documentary “Climb Dance”. For 2013, Peugeot will be back at Pikes Peak with the appropriately named 208 T16. Piloting the 208 T16 will be WRC ace Sebastian Loeb, which should make the 208 T16 a formidable contender on that basis alone.

Pikes Peak is now paved all the way up so it lost 100% of it’s appeal. The Sierra Club filed suit, saying the dust and gravel going over the side was “ruining the Alpine Environment”. Now because of the speeds, cars are literally flying off the roadway, knocking down trees and spilling all types of fluids and oils.

If there is any car that is going to destroy the environment with irony and explosions (sounds like a good band name), I’m sure none combine capability and beauty quite like this example from Peugot.
I remember Vatanen going up there. It would be great to see this “Pug” do well at Pikes Peak.
What a wing… “is that a wing on your car or are you just happy to see me big fella” :-) If the 208 T16 goes off road it will surely fly!!!!!
