Looking a bit like a hybrid between the Range Rover Evoque and a Subaru Outback, the VW CrossBlue Coupe Concept is the smaller companion to the larger CrossBlue that debuted at Detroit. The Coupe has a twin-turbo V6 and a plug-in hybrid system making 409 horsepower, but don’t expect that to make it into production. Hopefully the CrossBlue’s diesel engine does carry over to the production version, which is rumored to be the next Tiguan.

Pretty nice for a CUV, in the current VW design language.
But. Need. Larger. Windows.
This looks way prettier than Tiguan.
Agreed — this may also foretell the Audi Q4 too. It looks very Evoque-ative.
I’m assuming if it gets a hybrid powertrain, it’d get the 2.0T hybrid that’s in the Q5.
It is a lot nicer than the production Tiguan, but the Tiguan concept was a real looker too. Hope all the pretty doesn’t get washed out before it hits dealer lots.
4 doors and a cuv height. sorry that does not qualify as a coupe.
Although it’s neither blue nor a coupe, it looks pretty nice. The proportions and squared-off looks are great, and the interior is simple, yet elegant (and even manages to incorporate cup-holders from the Phaeton). I’d definitely drive it…just not in yellow.
I’m sure that’s not yellow.
“CrossOrange Metallic”, apparently.
I saw a car that color today, but damned if I could tell what it was from where I was standing (just didn’t get a good look at it — it was about a block away from where I was standing going at least 30-40 mph). It looked worse on that car than this one. It looked like another CUV-type vehicle.
It’s the same color as the 74 Chevy pick up a couple of articles down.
That interior looks about as comfortable and inviting as an electric chair. Teutonic interiors sheeesh…
Another 4-door coupe
Can’t wait to see the Porsche and Audi they make out of this.
That would be the second-generation Q3.
Looks nice, let’s hope they don’t make it super boring.
It’s another CUV. How can it be anything but boring……
That’s the widest center console I’ve ever seen. That moves the driver’s right leg another three inches to the left, and for those of us who wear size 13 EE cowboy boots, that’s a problem. Also, what is that box on the floor in the rear? It doesn’t leave any foot room for a middle passenger – not that anyone would want to sit there, if given the option.
Although I can’t agree on it being the biggest center console I’ve ever seen, I agree, styling something in such a way that it’s a hindrance to the person that bought the vehicle doesn’t seem responsible, if the vehicle had a purpose other then transportation and/or needed the space for mechanical reasons, yes I could understand, but it’s FWD and a plan boring passenger vehicle.
Same goes for the second row middle, what’s the point in that? Theres no driveshaft, thus it seems rather pointless.
