I think I deserve to win the Bob Lutz book because I will appreciate reading it but I don’t have the necessary disposable income to purchase it. I am a 24 year old Navy submarine veteran and currently sell new Ford/Chrysler products at a dealership in rural northeastern Michigan. I have been enamored with automobiles since a young age. This fall I will be taking advantage of the GI bill to attend Michigan Technological University. After I graduate I would like to continue to work in the auto industry. That’s a very nice 900. Last year for the vintage body style, I believe.
I’m not even a Saab fan and I give Mr. Archer’s a thumbs up.
Nice job, sir. However, I must tell you – if you work where I stalk… er… think you work – when you attend MTU (as did I), you will soon learn that the part of Michigan you live in now has no north in it, eastern or otherwise. About 4 hours into your next Techward journey when, horrified, you realize you are not even half-way there yet, look around. That’s where the North starts.
It’s a good thing (for me) he doesn’t sell cars over here on the west side. A Tech-bound, TTAC-reading, SAAB-driving veteran could probably talk me into something financially devastating.

Thank you for the book! I would’ve picked it up earlier but I’ve been putting all my cash into the Saab. It is the last year of “classic” 900 production other than some convertibles sold as 1994 models. The c900 is longitudinal fwd with the engine mounted backwards and the transaxle underneath, hence the long front overhang. Aggressive front weight distribution will be good during the winters at MTU. The c900 was also the last Saab produced without outside design sourcing (other than the Triumph derived motor).

Talk about who killed American cars and our auto industry, he’s up there with ‘Hardley capable Earl’…
