Though the Juke is marketed as a fun-to-drive vehicle for members of Generation Why, Nissan knows it could do better to make the crossover a performance monster, too. Enter the Juke NISMO RS.
The RS brings to the table 215 horsepower out front from its 1.6-liter turbo-4 through a manual, or 211 through a CVT, with all-wheel drive available on the latter The suspension and steering have been tuned for better handling, with larger discs up front and vented ones in the back to bring the bug-eyed sprite to a halt. A revised exhaust and ECU also do their best to make the RS all that it was meant to be.
Inside, Recaro seats in red leather and black suede wait to hug you while the optional satnav — the only option available to both CVT and manual models — will help take you from one hipster hangout to the next.
Nissan expect the Juke NISMO RS to arrive in showrooms in early 2014.

Looks like someone beat it with an ugly stick.

Though it’s ridiculously ugly, as long as it comes with an engine that can race a Veyron in a short distance and win, I have to respect it.
The Juke-R can run a 10.5. That’s amazing!
I wish you are as funny as MDB on Zerohedge.
Something different – “But Acceptable”.
Hmmm… which is prettier between this & Lexus LF-NX Concept?
The Juke, at least, has personality under its awkward lines. And hey, manual transaxle.
Even by Juke standards, that’s ugly. I just think the car looks awful in black. I wish ours was white or charcoal or blue.
I always maintain that all of this work would have been much cooler if applied to the Versa 5-door instead of the Juke.
So this is like finding out the ugliest girl you know is also really athletic. OK, whatever. But a Versa-R would be like finding out the nerdy French foreign exchange chick is also really athletic.
Things just got interesting.
So ugly girl… nerdy French girl… there’s a difference? Not to mention I’m reading “athletic.” Again, I’m not making any connection how a muscular woman is somehow more attractive. In my experience they tend to be pretty butch. You can have a woman be fit/healthy and feminine/sexy without being an athlete.
My problem is less with looks and more with the why? Why soup up a tall clumsy SUV/crossover or whatever they call these trucks? Spend the money on a similar package for the Versa or Sentra.
They’re not really clumsy though. I’ve been hooning a (non Nismo) one for the last two weeks, and it goes well. It’s worth noting that it’s built on the same platform as the C11 Versa, and really not all that tall either.
Not sure how they made the outside uglier, but they did. But, I like it. Can’t explain it. I really like the interior. Nice upgrades, or at least they look like upgrades over the prior versions.
3 pedals = good.
Early 2014? Two years on NISMO Jukes languish on dealer lots. Slower to move than the already peaked regular Jukes.
The Recaro side bolsters are a painful reminder on every entry and exit.
One salesman told me NISMO RS would become a collector car…
