This is the $1.1 million Youabian Puma on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It was designed by Dr. Kambiz Youabian. His day gig is apparently cosmetic medicine. I’m not sure that I’d be so eager to put human flesh at the mercy of Dr. Youabian’s sense of beauty and proportion. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Finally, after all these years there is proof. You CAN polish a turd.
Yes and, unfortunately, it remains a turd.
And it comes out larger after polishing, apparently.
This and the Nissan IDx are the only remotely interesting vehicles, whether production, concepts, or near-production, so far – and for opposite reasons – at the LA show.
This thing hit every branch falling out o the fugly tree.
The rest of the vehicles are a collective yawn.
The Nissan IDx is probably one of the nicest, purest & cleanest designs to grace any auto show in at least a decade, and that rare gem that even gets ME enthused (there’s hope yet left that we all may not be forced to buy swept back teardrops or jelly beans in the future) – but Nissan HAS to give it a proper manual (the third pedal and stick shift kind) transmission option and an at least moderately powerful motor relative to its curb weight.
Yes!
Death to sightless aeroblobs.
Dare to be Square.
Myth Busters actually proved that you can polish a turd…you know…just say’n.
From the side it looks like it’s had a baby and is awaiting a tummy tuck. What is this supposed to be? Why has it got off road tires? What platform is it based on?
You a buyin Cougar would be a more appropriate name, given his profession.
Holy conflict of interests Batman!
It’s based on the Volvo C70 convertible im guessing, lookin at mirrors headrests and little humps behind the rear headrests.
Yep, interior and convertible top are from the Volvo.
If that’s an example of his aesthetic sense, please, keep him away from our noses, cheeks and boobs!!!
Bad plastic surgeons flock to California because it has very low caps on malpractice recovery.
And lots of wannabe starlets who need…ahem…enhancement.
It’s an inflated Miata with snow tires.
I’m seeing a stretched Buick Enclave convertible … the Buick “Whale” goes topless while swallowing an MX-5 Miata called Jonah!
Anyone recall the plastic surgery bit in “Escape from L.A.”?

From the front, my first thought was the car for a guy who wants a Plymouth Prowler and a VW Baja Bug, but can only have one.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen lawn tractors with that same front end design.
Possibly the scale is throwing everyone off and they don’t realize how BIG it is.
…nearly 8 feet wide and more than 20 feet long. It sits on wheels that are 44 inches tall and 21 inches wide.
That is beyond large.
Belongs in the garage with this:

Heh, I like the Mitsuoka Orochi. It looks like it is ready to eat someone. That thing up there is an ugly monstrosity though.
Does it have adjustable suspension or something for off-road use, or are the tires just for show? It’s like an ugly sci-fi movie prop.
The word that springs to mind when looking at this: disgusting….
The word that popped up in my brain was…
compensation
“Compensation”.
For what?
A small penis.
I wouldn’t know anything about that.
ew – looks like somebody injected botox into a 90’s era Chrysler Sebring, and botched the job. This guy has way too much time and money on his hands.
From that second picture it looks like a late 90’s Mitsubishi Eclipse. I think they even sold the Eclipse in that exact color.
This thing looks like a cross between the elegant Plymouth Prowler and the concept Jeep Sportster (or whatever that two-seater was called.) It’s too low for real off-road fun but those tires are simply too big and too aggressive for normal on-road handling. To be honest, it looks like it was built for dirt- or snow-track racing. It might be a lot of fun on off-pavement courses but would probably be blown away by true off-road cars and trucks in the typical off-road parks.
Dropping Dead Kennedys references on us Ronnie? :)
Sorry, I only found out about the album when I checked the phrase on Google. I’ve never been that hip, really.
Just in time for some guy’s midlife crisis…
:D
I’ve had 3 midlife crises… and I still wouldn’t get this thing! :)
From the front, it looks like an evil alien baby.
There’s some irony in your statement since the money behind this comes in no small part from women whom some would consider insecure enough about their physical appearance to get cosmetic treatments. From his website it appears that Dr. Youabian’s cosmetic medicine practice serves primarily a female clientele.
It looks like a warthog
Even a Warthog (A-10 Thunderbolt II) is prettier than this thing.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a beautiful masterpiece of utilitarian functional form. Every odd angle and bulge has a purpose.
See those tow hooks? They look like tusks. Now, what kind of an animal has tusks.
A Walrus.
Apparently this is a Volvo C70 cosplaying Jabba the Hutt.
Which explains some of the weird proportions since there is a modest sized car, buried in the middle of a medium duty truck, serious WTFery here.
Why am I not shocked a plastic surgeon had a hand in creating something so ostentatious and sort of useless?
This is a life size Hot Wheels car… no?
Well, there is one person, presumably, who can stand back, chest bursting with pride and say “Now that’s what I mean!” Zero dreams of babyshit brown manual diesel wagon for that good doc.
It looks like a low-slung tractor,barfing up a 91 Civic.
