Suzuki may no longer be with us, but they’re readying the next generation Vitara for sale in world markets.
With the new Vitara, Suzuki appears to be moving away from the off-road ready Vitara that was so popular with its North American fanbase. The new Vitara looks to be positioned as a Nissan Qashqai-fighter. A smart move from a commercial standpoint (since that’s where the market is going), but no doubt a blow to the Suzuki faithful.

The last Mitsubishi product I bought was a 2011 Outlander Sport w/38k miles that had a transmission problem Mitsu refused to cover under warranty.
Unless its an Eclipse Spyder, a trade-in, a television, or a scale model of a WWII dive bomber, I have no interest to deal with anything Mitsu ever again.
SIDENOTE – I always thought i-MiEV was the perfect MMA finance product. Guarantee 100% approval, no stips, $800 down. Its not like you can skip town without an 8-hour layover!
Mitsubishi makes excellent ductless air conditioners/heat pumps. They actually get a premium for their brand in that market.

The Avenger…oh wait, that’s gone too. Mitsubishi probably still has some leftover 2012 models to sell. The Kia dealers seems to want to lend to everyone too. The Kia dealer that advertises on the radio in the Detroit area claims to have “the most expienced special finance staff in the Detroit area,” and guaranee cedit application acceptance. If I needed a car at 47% interest, I’d go there.
Most of my new-to-credit friends who’ve tried to finance Kia vehicles have come away disappointed. They seemed to get the easiest financing from Chrysler (surprise, surprise) and Honda.
I think it’s the dealership more than Kia. I agree with you on Chrysler though. If you have a paycheck, they will sell you a car.
Looks like Ren-Nissan is considering bringing over low-cost Korean clones of the Altima/Teana. Maybe a package deal: Free Samsung phone when you finance a Samsung car?
It would certainly help with the stip process of the subprime world.

The final US Vitara was a RWD, manual transmission, IRS, unibody wagon for under $20K. I.e. the internet forum dream. The only things it lacked were diesel and brown paint (the manual was only available in black).
We don’t have enough crossover in our market. Darn it what a loss!!

I really don’t think we’re missing all that much. Hell… if Mazda can’t sell the 5 well in North America in the face of the value package Chrysler vans, I doubt this would sell in the face of the Jeep Wrangler.
