Mercedes-Benz’s next sports sedan will share an engine with the recently revealed AMG GT, as well as the car’s adaptive engine mounts.
The next C63, shown here, will ape the GT’s two-tier power level. A 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with a 7-speed transmission will be offered with both 469 and 503 horsepower trims. Although AWD hasn’t been announced, AMG has been shifting to a lineup of vehicles driving all four wheels. This, combined with the major power advantage over the BMW M3, should give the new Benzo a decided qualitative and quantitative advantage over their arch-rivals.

Speaking of ridiculous, overpriced vehicles…
I saw an X6M in traffic at lunch today. I reminded myself quickly that it cost over $100,000. Then I rolled my eyes and had to look away.
Not because of the offensive car, but because my wood trim was glinting in my eyes.
BTW, around $70,000 for the C63 currently. WTF.
I saw a S5 convertible yesterday.
Apparently those things start at $65k.
I knew the Germans were expensive, but man, that’s a lot of money for a car that’s a little on the small side to me.
Exactly. $5k more and you’re into A8 money.
I think I’d rather have the A8, I’m not a droptop kind of guy anyway.
Me either. And the A8 is infinitely more prestigious, IMO.
Sticker price on these things is irrelevant, they’re all leased. Sometimes I wish I just didn’t give a crap and was happy to blindly get another $500/mo 335i every 2-3 years. Then I remember I’d like to pay my house off and retire someday.
My friend has an X6 M. It lives in the shop. And since BMW dealers are selective and only give loaners to people who bought the cars from them (she bought her car in nearby Dallas, like I did), she can usually be seen tooling around in her mother’s 2005 300C while her car is out of commission…
You mean she has had it for 2 years, and during these two years she has been three times to the shop? Is that a big deal on a 560 horse spaceship?
Or have you meant she’s a fool for not getting a 3 year old Corrola?
They only give a loaner to someone who bought from THAT dealership? Or only if bought new?
When I went to the local Infiniti dealer, they had a big page about how you get an Infiniti brand loaner any time you desire, any time your vehicle is there for a service.
If I ask the Lincoln dealer for a loaner when they are doing an oil change I get one. Last time I got an oil change done on a Friday, I brought the loaner back on Monday.
I wonder if they only give out G’s, or a JX if you have an SUV model. Probably.
But look at you there, using the system. They didn’t care? Or maybe they were just so happy to have a customer they didn’t care!
What sort of loaner did ye get?
My Infiniti dealer gives out only loaner base model G’s, my BMW dealer only gives out loaner 3 series. Although sometimes they are not base models.
In both cases, I don’t think it matters where you got the car. Our BMW dealer has valet service though, which is nice. A loaner car appears at your door and they take your car away for the oil change.
Twin turbo V8 in a car this small… I feel like the next generation of Camaros, Mustangs and Corvettes will have hot V snails….

Gasket supplier under investigation. Film at 11.
COTD!
+1
Well I want one even if it’s wet inside.
Lol!
Or you could buy a C36 AMG for about $4k-$5k and sit on the rest of that cash. :)
And a F30 M3 buyer can go buy an E36 M3 for a fraction of the cost of a new one but that’s not the same buyer.
But it’s increasingly the same guy paying for them both in the end……..
Sit on it? More like “spend it on $2000 gaskets and $100 clips.”
Our you could buy a bass pass and Uber rides and sit on all of the cash! Yaiy!
