This design sketch is the first teaser of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson, set to bow at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show next month.
Per Hyundai Motor Group’s president and design chief Peter Schreyer, the compact crossover “will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally,” praising the Tucson’s “bold and athletic presence,” stance, flowing lines and trademark grill.
The Tucson name is expected to make a global impact as well, superseding the ix35 nameplate found in Europe and other global markets.

Oh, please, it looks just like a sketchy version of the current model
While exaggerated – will end up looking much better than the current model which has one of the worst front ends available today.
Typical sketch.
Hugely oversize wheels, rubber band tires – Check.
Ultra-high belt line with teeny-tiny windows – Check.
Super-skinny sexy side mirrors – Check.
Slammed down low like a sports car – Check.
Bonus points for having all four wheels offset outside the body panels.
No other distinguishing features – Check.
Do all these artists go to the same drawing school? Is Chip Foose the teacher?
So…the actual 2016 Tucson is going to look just like the 2013-2015 line up, except the bar across the front grill is gone. Woot! Game-changer!
(Disclaimer – I own a Santa Fe and a Genesis Coupe and I like the looks of both)
You’ve said all that needs to be said!
Except for my first thought, which would be to replace the H logo with a Ford one, and see if anyone would question that this is a new Edge.
Well said; it really should be called a caricature instead of a sketch. Sad how predictable it is that the real car will look nothing like this.
Those headlamps—at least, the way they’ve been depicted here—look very similar to those of the Dodge Dart…
Not sure if you all have seen the spy shot yet or not.. A lot of styling in common with the Santa Cruz concept.
