I find it interesting DSK is on trial and yet the attendants of such “parties” seem to have escaped mainstream scrutiny. I suspect there is a deeper game going in here in relation to DSK.
There are plenty of people who suspect that it’s all in an attempt to derail his once-promising bid for the French Presidency.

I think Bunga Bunga underwent some criticism but AFAIK nothing ever came of it.
And Moammar Ghadaffi was a fan of “bunga bunga” which should have raised even more hackles. It did not.

There is a lot about Europe that I don’t like but the fact they they generally care little for the personal lives of their politicians is something that I admire. I wish we could focus more on our politicians ability to govern than their credentials for sainthood.
Yes, I’d like to see a study done regarding leadership ability and a strong sex drive. Our societies puritanical attitude may be costing us good leaders.
One might argue that that same talents that get one laid frequently are likely useful in politics (schmoozing, BSing, loose morals, etc).

Other than the fact that a car is in the picture, I’m baffled as to what this is doing here. Like the first poster, I thought this sort of borderline-NSFW off-topic thing went out with Bertel.
Whatever you feel about the situation he broke the law and is facing indictment since he trafficked in women which is a bit worse than having an affair or hiring an escort. The man was intimate in the affairs of the prostitution he was involved in and now has to face the charges that stem from it.
Though personally him as the IMF chair was a disgusting endeavor of further forced colonialism under the guise of economic modernization. I guess the irony in all this is he was brought down by people that were so far below him as to not even qualify as such in his book. The failures of the elite to heed the groups they serve is always tragic.
The man held one of the most important economic jobs on the planet as the head of the IMF. And on the side he was involved in “a few” sex orgies that he happned to organize as well. The man claimed to have been totally vindicated when the US prosecutor dropped the charges against him relating to his attemepted rape of maid in a hotel only to promptly settle out of court with the said maid. I guess reality trumps Hollywood yet again.
I love naked women probably even more than the next guy…. hell I’ve made a not-insubstantial amount of cash from them.

First, I definitely can’t see why this rant belongs on TTAC.
Second, to all those making fun at the French (no, I’m not), let’s not forget:
– DSK was NOT elected French president. Could he have been? Probably not, as his opponent (Sarkozy) was well informed about his ‘way of life’
– DSK was chosen as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund even though quite a few people (including, but not only, the Murrican Prez) must have been aware of his way of life
– DSK’s role model could have been… JFK. Who’s sexual life was probably even more ‘creative’. And who did get elected to be the Murrican Prez, nonetheless.
