Koenigsegg-Agera-RS-14

The carbon-fiber extravaganza known as the Koenigsegg Agera RS made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show, one of two Koenigseggs set to bow this week.

Power for the exotic comes from a 5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 1,160 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque, all funnelled through a seven-speed dual-clutch auto to an electronically controlled differential in the back.

Curb weight is 3,075 lbs due to its extensive use of carbon fiber — including the wheels, which are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires for the track, Supersports for the road — and is able to produce 1,070 lbs of downforce at 155 mph thanks to aggressive aero and adjustable rear wing.

Very impressive cars. Christian von Koenigsegg brought an Agera R to the hotel we were staying at for the COTA back in November. All the other high end and exotic machinery parked nearby was overlooked as the blue Koenigsegg stole the limelight.

I wonder if it will do 250 miles per hour.

I mean, based on specs, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be able to at least come close to that…

Goodness sakes what a serious looking car. Very impressive, you know it means business even when it’s just parked.

Reminds me of one of those black fuzzy spiders with bright green eyes (the jumpy kind). The type that turn towards you when you get close, rather than run and hide. “Come at me!” they say.

Looking at such an impressive car like this one that has the Lotus written all over makes me wonder why is it that Lotus is dragging so far behind?….

There’s a reason why Koenigsegg is my fave out of the boutique hyper-car makers.

I like Koenisegg, the cars and the founder, but I feel like they are stuck in a rut building the same car with the same body, just little differences and different performances. That’s barely acceptable for Porsche, but at a million dollars plus it really isn’t, at some point you have to do something different.
