This one might get blown away by the Robb Report all-stars at Geneva, but the Lexus LF-SA Concept shows what the automaker can do in the city.
The spindly, spikey city car seats four in its tiny frame, which comes to 135 inches in length, 66.9 inches in width, and 56.3 inches in height. Most of its interior layout is driver-focused, including a fixed driver’s seat and adjustable steering wheels and pedals, while the front passenger seat slides for access to the rear seats.
Outside, the LF-SA Concept’s “Time in Design” appearance is meant to give onlookers a change in perception “when viewed from different angles.” Lexus’ trademark is incorporated into the design, such as the L-shaped lamp clusters and daytime running lights, while the overall look is meant to give the concept a rugged, confident vibe.
Other features include hologram-style digital display, undercut wheel arches, silver exterior finish, and a wide-angle HUD.

I feel like heavy use of those airport floor moving escalator type things would be beneficial. Just build a slow moving one and a fast one, you can use the slow one as an onramp to get onto the fast floor mover. In lieu of personal transportation in the city that is.
Anybody? No?
Ok I’ll go sit in my corner now.
Ah yes, I remember that short story: “The Roads Must Roll” by Heinlein, or “what do you do when the 60mph track is slowed down to 0 along a major travel corridor?”
I forget how many tracks were used to reach the top speed sections, but it involved a short sprint to match speeds before hopping onto the quicker line.
At least Lexus brought something interesting. The rest of the cars seem like irrelevant supercars or predictable, lukewarm updates to existing products.
It looks like they built a grill then attached a Smart car to it.
It’s a city car; the grill is there to suck up pedestrians and cyclists so Lexus drivers can carry on as normal, yacking on their cell phone oblivious to all around.
“shows what the automaker can do in the city.”
What they can do is provide an LS460L AWD. Then you can drive about the city in luxurious comfort and style.
Real cars are scary, we’d much rather have copies of the [failed] Smart car.
Looks like the aluminum foil I crumpled and threw in the trash last night.
It looks like they took the Choro Q version of the Lexus RC-F and turned it back into a real car
This may sell in Japan (its intended market I imagine), but I think it weakens the brand in the West. I’d be singing a different tune if Smart or IQ has worked out, but they both failed.
Inspired by Hasbro. Tell me you don’t see it.

I love the way Lexus took all their worst styling cues and crammed them all together on one little car
Is this a copy of Darth Vader’s Disney Helmet?
It’s Darth Tater – see the link above!
You win, that’s hilarious and looks just like the car
Look, it even has a trunk…

You found a picture of the production version!
Is the grill one of those things that if you look at it long enough it appears to be moving? I used to get those in my email all the time…I hope it hasn’t made it to the road. What the NHTSA say about all those people with motion sickness?
