Now I know these trendy, dipsh*t chiaroscuro teaser photos are shopped. No way any light source could be that soft yet that constrained to only the portion they wish to show.
That may contribute to how washed-out and sandblasted the red, white and blue of the shield appear.
I make it a point to know this sort of stuff. I like the 90’s car evolution! Particularly Japanese luxury brands, and the end of GM and Ford RWD large cars.
That makes sense. I was looking towards the new models, not the end of the old ones.
The Roadmaster really was the last of it’s type. I never liked those Century’s, though.
When I think of 1990s Buick, I don’t think of Regals, Skylarks, or Centurys.
I tend to gravitate towards LeSabres, because I own one, and Rivieras, because they were drop-dead gorgeous pieces of artwork in my mind. The final generation Riviera is the most beautiful modern car in my mind.
Sadly, the Buick that I love likely isn’t what they make any more….
It’s massive yet graceful, costs entirely too much money, is a PLC, is V12, is British, hand built, and has full moon alloys. What more could you ask for?
Looks a helluva lot like the Panamera-wannabe that Holden was touting as the Commodore replacement. So, I guess it’s the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia for Europe, Buick LaCrosse for North America/Asia, Alpheon for Korea and Holden Commodore for Oceania?
Dilute it? As well they should. The grille is from the Avenir concept, and that’s yet another attempt to build a full size, four passenger car by extending the console through to the rear. a full across three passenger rear seat is REQUIRED in a full size car, for nookie, putting the M-I-L in back with the kids, and for sleeping when you’re drunk.
Ya know, I don’t think the Buick emblem is big enough…
I’m sure it tested well in the Chinese market.
Are the shield colors back?
Ooh, pretty. Way nicer than the new Toyota/Lexus fascias.
…for the Chinese market, presumably. Unless they’re bringing back the colored Tri-Shield for the US.
Methinks the Opel lightning bolt would look better in there.

That’s stonewashed! It was a thing in 1994, which was two years before the last interesting thing from Buick.
What happened with Buick in 1996? The only change I remember was the Series II 3800.
The Roadmaster went to heaven.
Pfft.
End of square Century, Century Estate, and Regal.
End of Regal Coupe
End of good Park Avenue.
End of Roadmaster/Estate.
That was, like, 20 years ago and you’re, like, 20-something. You were tracking this stuff in grade school?
Or channeling again.
I make it a point to know this sort of stuff. I like the 90’s car evolution! Particularly Japanese luxury brands, and the end of GM and Ford RWD large cars.
You go, then! Comprehensive knowledge of an avocation is a shiny thing.
Not a fan of the supercharged Regal Gran Sport then?
That makes sense. I was looking towards the new models, not the end of the old ones.

My vote on most beautiful modern car is – Brooklands.

That Bentley is gorgeous, but does it have Dynaride or plush velour seating?
I think not.
Ah yes, many a manufacturer is jealous of the patented GM Velour Cow. So rare to see in the wild!
CoreyDL on the Bentley Brooklands: “It’s massive yet graceful, costs entirely too much money, is a PLC, is V12…”
Nope. The old RR/Bentley V8.

Yeah, I realized that last night at some point, between taking decongestant medicine and falling asleep.
I’m blaming being sick for that one! I won’t forget how Clarkson said “the old six-and-three-quarter-litre” on TG.
I like it, the chrome wings extend beyond the grille itself via the crease in the fascia.
Looks nice.
I see red, white and blue on that shield.
‘Murica.
More like pink, white, and baby denim. We are not a pastel nation – give us BOLD!
As it should be. Heck, they should revive the 1959 design:

’59 Buicks are the Buickest!
Meh! Who cares?
I’m not sure what’s different? Is this supposed to create excitment?
No that would be Pontiac.
Take a good look.
You’ll never see one in person.
I like it! Now, watch how GM will dilute it….

Very, very nice. Bringing back color to the tri-shield adds a real touch of class, too.
