Ford and the United Auto Workers union announced Friday they’d reached a tentative agreement which, if ratified, will become the rules of work for Ford’s 52,000 unionized employees for the next four years.
“This morning, your National Negotiating Committee reached a tentative agreement with Ford Motor Company. On Monday, November 9th, UAW-Ford presidents and chairpersons will meet in Detroit to review and discuss the tentative agreement, and vote whether or not to send it to the membership for final ratification,” UAW president Dennis Williams and UAW-Ford Department representative Jimmy Settles said in a release sent to union membership. “I know this has been a very long and stressful process, but I thank each of the 52,000 hard working men and women of UAW-Ford for their patience, understanding and solidarity.”
Ford was very brief in its release: “Working with our UAW partners, we have reached a tentative agreement for the next four years for our employees and our business. The agreement, if ratified, will help lead the Ford Motor Company, our employees and our communities into the future.”
The agreement comes on the final day of contract ratification voting by union employees at General Motors.
No timeline was set for ratification of the UAW-Ford proposed contract, though it will likely take about a week if accepted by membership.

I was starting to wonder why we hadnt heard anything about Ford’s negotiations on here or autoblog– maybe I just missed it? Mustve been on the same day as the Titan XD media drive article. ;)
