UPDATE: TTAC Does Texas/Sajeev’s 10-year Anniversary Celebration has been postponed.
The Truth About Cars’ longest running current contributor, Sajeev Mehta, is about to hit 10 years of faithful service.
I’m going to fly down to Texas and hoist a beer with him. You should too.
That’s right. For his 10 year anniversary, Sajeev has to deal with me putting the letter U in words where they don’t belong for an entire night. Being that the 10-year mark is the tin/aluminum anniversary, many cans of PBR must be smashed as a sacrifice to the Crusher Gods.
We’d love you to join in on the fun — and possibly sorrow — at West Alabama Ice House (1919 W Alabama St, Houston, TX, 77098) on Saturday, March 26.
More details to follow.

Sold and added to my calendar!
See you there!
Who?
When’s the party for Sanjeev? Since Mark’s adding superfluous U’s, we can do the same for the N.
I need some free airline tix.
Horray! Hangin out with Samjeev and Mart.
Woohoo! I’ll bring my R body
Sweet!
he’s outlasted like 90% of the Editors-in-chief
Hey, what happened with the project Sierra?
Still in powertrain swap mode. Will have to fab up a transmission mount for the Mustang/Cossie T-5, do a pedal swap, EFI swap, etc.

Ah, I missed that episode.
I’d love to see how FrankenSierra turns out!
Aluminum? Don’t you mean aluminium?
I’m Canadian. Not British.
Congrats, Sajeev.
It would take me at least 6 days to drive there. It would be worth it to drink a beer to an East Indian wearing an American Indian headdress in a Red state.
Great choice of location! See y’all there.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Book it. Done.
This is gonna be epic. Maybe I’ll even bring the Indian chief headdress.
As the last Chief of the Indian Guide Nation in the Allentown PA Y, I have the head to floor official headdress from our nation. It is awesome, and I earned it as both Chief of the Nation and Chief of the Mohawk Tribe. There was no one to pass it to when the Y went PC and changed to the adventure guides. That lasted a whole year before it folded.
Any other former Indian Guides out there?
Aye! The Y’s Indian Guides program was outstanding; rotating between the various members’ homes kept meetings fresh, and the yearly or twice yearly campouts (depending on activity levels) offered a welcome break for the family. Mothers got the whole house to themselves for 2 weekends a year and the fathers and sons headed for the campgrounds, where the young ones would embark on their own adventures while the dads hung around the base camp and got quietly sloshed.
Bellows and Mokuleia were favorite haunts during the midyear, while the annual full powwows were held at Camp Erdman, just down the road from the glider airstrip.
Because he was very adept at it, our tribe used my father’s bullwhip crack as a callout for events. He took the name Big Noise, while I was Little Bullwhip and my eternally grouchy younger brother earned the moniker Thunder Cloud.
Pretty cool .
I wish I could join you alls .

Lol. I think y’all have got the wrong kind of Indian there.
Meanwhile, I don’t live that far from Houston. So you might see me there :)
What is it? A six-hour drive?
It’s longer than that. But one of my parents and my sister live in Houston.
You should definitely come down for the weekend.
Wish I could join, but flights from Honolulu are right around $1,000 right now.
Yall have fun, and congrats Sajeev!
Probably the same cost as a flight from Canada, ha. I checked mine for fun – $368.
Is there enough parking there? I’m next to Katy so will probably make it.
There’s not much parking at W. Alabama itself (unless you bring a motorcycle), but there is parking in adjacent lots — like the one across the street that has an awesome taco stand.
Ten years at TTAC deserves more than just a beer; it deserves a Canadian beer.
American beers/ale was once a joke, but the revival of exceptional, world class breweries in the U.S. in the past 15 years or so now has American Beer/Ale putting Canadian Beer/Ale to shame.
Rogue Ales
Founders Brewing Co
Boulevard Brewing Co
Stone Brewing Co
Goose Island
Dogfish Head
New Holland
Bell’s
Deschutes Brewery
Great Divide Brewing
Three Floyds
New Belgium
Green Flash
Brewery Ommegang
Victory Brewing Co
Allagash Brewing Co
Just to name a few.
Now, Canada is the one brewing pi$$ water.
@ DW…Just before I bought my Mustang, {I did have my heart set on a coupe , with leather}…. I entertained the thought of , “maybe lease a ATS Coupe”. ??
So I sat in it, and looked around. Checked out fit, and finish, materials, etc. Oh yes, and the gauges.
The price in Canada was obscene. It took me about 30 seconds to come to the conclusion.
Dead Weight was right. Why TF should I spend 25 K more, for what is esentially a tarted up Malibu, with 2 less doors ?
So you WERE right!
However when it come to rating Canadian beer ….? Stick to Caddy bashing, your better at it
After living in Toronto for a year, I found the Canadian craft beer selection to be mighty tasty. Spearhead Brewing Company’s Hawaiian Style Pale Ale is absolutely delicious. Flying Monkey had some decent stuff, too.
There was a wide open market, demand readily outstripped supply. That was 2012. I hope more brewers have come online.
I’ll admit that my knowledge of Canadian beer is not up to date, as the last time I focused on it was way back when I was 19 and could legally drink Molson 7% (whatever that was called) at Don Cherry’s in Windsor while watching the Red Wings in the playoffs.
mikey, you’ve seen the light!
More and more people realize with each passing day that my two thumbs (and two big toes) down on the Cadillac ATS-POS is the correct verdict, and that if it should have been manufactured at all (rhetorical; it shouldn’t have – at all), it should’ve been as a Pontiac circa-2004, for $22,900.
p.s. – Hope you’re doing better bro.
Congratulations, Sajeev. I wish I lived closer. We need more Vellum Venom!
Seconded. VV is my favorite type of article here.
Unfortunately I’ll be busy that weekend, otherwise a 480 mile roundtrip on $18 bucks of gas would be hard to pass up. But I’ll definitely crack a beer for you!
Congratulations! But… coming to Texas to drink PBR? I hope you leave some space for at least one Lone Star, Real Ale, Shiner, and a Saint Arnold. At least.
I’m partial to Bombshell Blonde.
FYI, that’s also his birthday weekend!
Sajeev has requested Canadian prezzies, so I must oblige.
Canadian-choco-diabeetus!
Congrats on 10 years Mr. Sajeev! I’ll be sure to raise a glass of Crown Royal Northern Harvest at the end of the month in your honor.
Crown and Coke is a big thing down here in TX. Make it happen.
That’s my fave.
Ten years… completely wasted.
Congrats! :)
Thank you all for your kind words, it’s nice to know my mind writes stuff that people actually wanna read while they should be working. :-)
Sajeev…Your advice has been excellent over the years. Keep it up man.
If I could swing it , I would be there in a heartbeat. I have that date in my day planner. That calls for a Labbats 50 …cheers
I would love to meet you one day, dude. But if you have one for me, that’s close enough.
I’m in!
I wish I could score time off from the day job and two-kid responsibility to make it out. Sajeev is a hero of mine and is at least partially responsible for getting me my first “real” gig reviewing cars as a second job.
Congrats, Jeeves, on 10 years well-wasted. Glad to call you a friend and colleague.
Wow has it already been 10 years? Congrats Sajeev. Hope you’re still keeping Panther love alive!
