Howdy, campers. Unofficially, summer ends this weekend. Bummer! Of course, from a meteorological standpoint, you still have a few weeks left before fall, um, falls.
As is usually the the case around these here parts, we’re gonna shut it down a bit early today to get a head start on the last long weekend until Thanksgiving. We have meat to grill, miles to travel, and beers to drink (though not if we’re driving).
Be safe out there. There may be a few posts here and there over the long weekend, and we’ll be back at full speed on Tuesday.
Until then, don’t work too hard! Har har…

What a beautiful dog :)
It looks like a very friendly, anyone can pet dog.
It’s a Border Collie, they are very friendly and smart
Oh, I always thought of those as brown and white.
They come in black or brown and white

Border Collie’s are herding dogs which can be an issue with little kids. They can get nippy which is part of their herding instinct. It is okay with sheep but not thin skinned children. I looked after one for a friend and it kept trying to herd my dogs.
Meteorological I’m trying to not blow away in a Cat 4 hurricane.
That storm looks like it could be no-s**t bad news. Stay safe.
I lived through two hurricanes when I lived in Florida, never again, please be safe and don’t worry about your stuff
Yep. Did Andrew. When it is time to go don’t hang out…get out.
Thanks for words, been in S FL my whole life and we dodged another bullet (like Irma). Doran was pretty much Andrew 2.0, as long as you were 50-70 miles from the eye things were fine. Sadly getting away was not an option for many on the islands.
Happy Labor Day to all unions except the UAW international.
Photo for the Canadians out there.

I love all dogs American or Canadian :)
Does it mean Canadians observe the same holidays as Americans? I mean Labour day and Thanksgiving. I thought Canada was a British territory.
@Inside Looking Out – Labour day, Easter, Christmas, New Years are all the same.
Although very smart, Border Collies bond very strongly with their ‘handler’ and are predisposed to herding. Therefore they notice anything new or ‘out of sorts’. Therefore if not well socialized early they are not fond of strangers.
Canada was not a British ‘territory’ it was a colony (just like the US), then a Dominion, meaning an independent nation but by choice remained and remains a member of the Commonwealth.
Canada’s Thanksgiving is celebrated earlier than Thanksgiving in the USA. The same Christian Holidays are observed (Easter & Christmas). Labour Day and New Years Day are also observed. Canadians also celebrate Canada Day, Victoria Day (May 24) and Boxing Day, Remembrance Day (which is not a statutory holiday in all provinces. In Ontario Family Day is a holiday and most get Simcoe Day/Civic Holiday. Other provinces have other holidays.
I already cooked up a mess of applewood smoked sausages….
I’m old so the flag touching the ground means it must now be burned to properly dispose of it…..

My grandparents had a Lassie Collie that I use to take for rides in my granddad’s 63 IH pickup–she was a nice dog and well behaved.
Going to be kissing 100F here in the Front Range of Colorado. Feels like Summer is in full swing here.
