Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, so it’s gonna be a long, relaxing weekend for those of us in the blog mines.
This means we will be knocking off early today.
There may or may not be a few more posts today and over the weekend — we all have holiday family stuff happening — but if the site goes silent night for a few days, don’t fret, we’ll be back with some more shenanigans next week. Although next week will also be a bit short for us, thanks to the New Year’s celebrations (however subdued they may be in the shadow of the Omicron variant of COVID-19).
Until then, have a good Christmas weekend. Be safe (including COVID safe), don’t drink and drive, and when your uncle starts off on a political rant just change the subject to talk about four-barrel carbs and Hurst shifters.
See ya Monday.

Happy Holidays!
Thank you for everything! One of my favorite sites.
Thank you for reading!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to all.
Happy Festivus Lou.
I got a lotta problems with you people.
“you people”
Canadians?
LOL
COVID has started hitting some of my family for the first time. Fortunately everyone is vaxed and non-compromised so everything should be fine. Just remember to mask up when you go out.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my fellow low mile used manual V8 RWD brown wagon for $3,500 buyers!
Hope everything is feeling OK in a few days, Merry Christmas.
*everyone
And right before the holidays…that sucks.
Hope everyone rides it OK.
Mask up and don’t forget the diaper. COVID can enter there too.
I tested negative on Friday morning and felt 100% and by lunch time my throat started to feel funny. I’m convinced I have it now as my symptoms are mainly some trouble breathing. I probably have 85% of my usual lung capacity. Otherwise I feel ok. Sometimes I feel a little light headed but nothing truly terrible.
My wife’s symptoms started on Tuesday night and she tested positive Friday morning.
We had to skip Xmas with my family and instead did it via Zoom.
I just got boosted on Monday but I think we were exposed over the weekend.
Feel better. Meanwhile, Danish study: Omicron blows by doublevaxx like there is nothing there.
Still spreading bullsh!t I see.
“data coming out of the country (South Africa) suggesting that Omicron, while highly transmissible, is less severe than previous variants, especially if you’re vaccinated, and even more so if you’re boosted.”
“Most of the World’s Vaccines Likely Won’t Prevent omicron infections”
who said? – NYT
Booster protection against Omicron drops within 10 weeks – NY Post
No, vaccine boosters won’t stop an Omicron surge. – CBS
“A new study adds more evidence that the omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can evade the immune protection conferred by vaccines and natural infection and suggests the need for new vaccines and treatments that anticipate how the virus may soon evolve.” – Science Daily
@slavuta – I’ll give you a chance since English is allegedly your second language. I’m talking about severity of infection not absolute immunity. As usual you are conflating the two. If new vaccines are required then they’ll develop them. There’s a new one already to go.
I am glad that you have fully lodged yourself into revolving door between CDC and Pharma
@slavuto – “between CDC and Pharma” All of a sudden your Eeenggleesh has improved. I’m not American so I don’t take direction from the US CDC. But hey, you might rile up a never vaxxer and keep the hate going.
No, you’re not American. That is very obvious.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Bud Light! (But not if you’re driving!)
You could get something better than Budlight for Christmas. How about car-named beer – Tatra

Make it a December to Remember, all!

Merry Christmas to All and Happy New Year! We done it – we survived 2021!
Was that hard?
It is nothing compared with what we have been through in 1990s.
Finally you said the truth. I’ll wish you a Marry Christmas in 2 weeks
Merry Christmas to all at TTAC
It is looking highly likely that December 2022 will find us in a very different place than we were in, say December 2019.
So to those in and around the automotive industry, enjoy the last of the remaining ‘normality’ while you can.
TL;DR: Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, Have A Nice Life (what might remain of it).
Dear Automotive Journalists of the Early 21st Century (and Late 20th),
You ruined everything*.
Signed, Future Non-Enthusiasts
*Detail to follow on or around 12/31/21
Merry Christmas to All! To TTAC keep up the good work. May next year be full of Junkyard finds, rare cars, cutting edge cars, and great series on unique cars and trucks.
Well, that was fun. I moved two days before Christmas, and then had my cleanout of the old place disrupted by the sort of weather event that turns Seattle into a hilly ice rink. Still managed to enjoy Christmas with family, though! Hope everyone else had as nice a time as I did.
I know what you mean. I didn’t move, and the high here was 75°F. Just miserable.
Engine might be a nice upgrade to my subie 2.5 in the back of my Vanagon.
Though 90 is fast enough for me.
