Today is President’s Day in America and Family Day in Canada, and so we, and our corporate masters, are taking the day off.

We have a regularly scheduled Junkyard Find, and if news breaks we’ll be around, but otherwise, see you all on Tuesday.

Take ‘er easy, and we hope you enjoyed this weekend’s Daytona 500.

Not The Bee had a fun one, some TV station naively asking NASCAR fans what they wrote on the finish line. Otherwise, I got nothing relevant.

On this Extra Peaceful [now that the Winter Olympics are over] Presidents’ Day (Texas spelling; not observed in Delaware), you may want to re-familiarize yourself with the contents of these materials:

Movie recommendation: The Atomic Cafe (1982 documentary) [available various places but here is one link]

“I made a run, let the bomb go. That was my greatest trill”, the man in the film says. Immediately I see images of Hillary Clinton when Qaddafi was killed.

And now I compare that to a Soviet admiral Fomin who saw the capability of Sakharov’s device – a giant torpedo with 100 MT charge, which could destroy LA and all around; and Fomin said, “I am a soldier and not a murderer.” This is how this project was scrapped.

“The General built cars based on the front-wheel-drive A platform (no, not that other GM A platform) for the 1982 through 1996 model years, with the profoundly unmemorable Chevy Celebrity as the most numerous type.”

I thought the Cutlass Ciera was the most popular FWD A-body back then.
