Once again, it’s time to, and I quote The Simpsons: “Celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it.”

So that means we’re off on the Fourth of July.

But wait, there’s more!

Both your intrepid managing editor and news contributor Matt Posky have vacation planned for the first week of July. So Matthew Guy will be mostly holding down the fort.

Because of the planned time off and because it’s a slow news week anyway, there won’t be a ton of fresh content, but you’ll see some previously scheduled works. The site will not be totally barren!

I’ll be in an exotic place called Florida, so I’ll have internet access if I need to pull myself away from the bars and beaches if news breaks, but otherwise, expect the site to have more of an eclectic mix of posts than usual.

Don’t drink and drive, don’t blow off any limbs, leave fireworks to the professionals, take the proper Covid precautions, and wear sunscreen. Be safe.

See you on the other side.

Happy Fourth. As long as you’re male.

Cost of July 4 cookout last year was down 16 cents. This year it’s up 17 per-cents. So by my ciphering, that’s only a one cent increase:

It’s up $10.00 from last year….so I guess Xiden can control the price of burgers, brats, hot dogs, buns, chips, pop, beer, paper plates, plastic cups, ice, propane, charcoal, ketchup, mustard, potato salad, pasta salad, etc.

But not gasoline and diesel. That’s crazy talk.

When they can’t argue the point, they personally attack. Love to see it. I never get tired of winning.

But I wonder what they think of David Axlerod and his recent comments:

            https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2022/07/01/david_axelrod_there_is_this_sense_that_things_are_out_of_control_and_biden_isnt_in_command.html

@Dave M.–He is just part of the Trumpers who are told to go out and spread the big lie that the election was stolen and that they are the true believers and the rest of us are deplorable liberals who are not true Americans. The MAGAs are told to go on sites to spread propaganda and to interrupt normal discussions with their garbage.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” Neither Hitler nor Goebbels would admit to lying. Goebbels, “always maintained that propaganda had to be truthful. That doesn’t mean he didn’t lie, but it would be a pretty poor propagandist who publicly proclaimed that he was going to lie.”

@Art Vandelay–EB is the one that starts these political discussions and whether we like or don’t like a particular President or a particular political party most of us come on a site to read and discuss cars, trucks, and any other type of wheeled vehicle and not politics. Yes I will call out anyone with a pure political agenda whether it be on the right or the left on a site like this. There are plenty of other sites and discussion forums for open discussion of politics and most of us on this site don’t want to hear it. Also the name calling of liberal doesn’t not endear people to your viewpoints.

            Art Vandelay

Except that EB didn’t start it…the first political comment was by Skye. Perhaps you skipped it or don’t find it political since it leans towards your own beliefs.

And no, you don’t call out those posting in line with your politics. Just stop. We can all read dude.

“ The MAGAs are told to go on sites to spread propaganda and to interrupt normal discussions with their garbage.”

What did I lie about? Is the cost of this years 4th cookout not up $10.00 from last year?

Did they not portray the saving of $0.16 cents last year as irrefutable proof that their economic policies are working?

I love how literal facts are considered lying to you. But, as Art and I have pointed out, you are incapable of refuting my points so you (and the other typical suspects) just melt down in a tantrum of personal attacks. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

“Also the name calling of liberal doesn’t not endear people to your viewpoints.”

Ah yes. The old “doesn’t not” double negative counter argument. We got a real thinker here.

2 Years ago Brisket at the local restaurant supply store was $2.15/ LB now it’s $3.75 / lb at Sam’s. Triton V-10 juice is 2x more expensive. CaddydDaddy could go on and on. But this is the pain we must endure to create a green, more sustainable economy that welcomes all who wish to come to our USA. So stop complaining.

Tomorrow, CaddyDaddy will be chillin’ with some adult beverages, enjoying Texas Brisket and sitting on the lake here in Colorado. God Bless all my fellow Americans.

Ah yes. We must destroy our economy to make it better for those who come here. Makes sense. BUt you are on to something. Recall wahat a Xiden advisor said recently:

“What do you say to the families that say ‘we can’t afford to pay $4.85 a gallon for months, if not years, this is not sustainable,”

According to a T-shirt I saw a young man wearing on June 19th at church celebrating the 4th of July makes one a racist.

Oh and I hear Clarence Thomas is secretly a white supremicist…

Libs be crazy:) Happy 4th Patriots, fellow vets and to folks of all walks grateful and proud to be Americans. Happy 1st to my neighbors on the other side of the Niagara River. I’ll enjoy your Fort George Fireworks tonight.

You’re just not woke enough to understand that Thomas is white and that celebrating our independence is racist (in the same way math is racist).

Here’s a political question: Why don’t we celebrate on July 2? Or August 2? How about September 3? (Which is easier – to decide something, to say something, or to make something happen?)

And speaking of Things Which Go Boom…
Weapons need Ammunition — always have, always will. Seems obvious, but everyone always forgets it, which invariably becomes a problem. Here’s a current perspective (from some individuals who still bow down to the Queen):
      https://rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/commentary/return-industrial-warfare

When’s the last time you (anyone) read this document?
      https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/declaration-transcript

“…all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved…”
Well, so much for NATO. :-)

      • 0 avatar
        Jeff S

NATO was created following WW II as an alliance of free Western European countries to protect themselves from the rise of another dictatorial leader like Hitler, Mussolini, and even a Communist leader like Stalin. Dissolve NATO and most likely you would have Putin take over Western Europe. Democratic countries and freedom are in the best interests of the United States. As a descent of Patriots who fought the British in the American Revolution I don’t bow down to royalty. I respect Britain as an ally but the Queen is theirs not ours. Happy July 4!

      Art Vandelay

Of course you didn’t see it as political Jeff…it was your sort of politics. Perhaps this is why you don’t call out those on the other side…you just don’t see them.

      • 0 avatar
        Jeff S

@Art Vandelay–I don’t go on a car site and deliberately spark a political debate.

“Happy Fourth. As long as you’re male”

Its a stretch to say that is a political remark. I would say it is dumb but I cannot see how that remark is political. Only implication I see is either a slight at gays or implying that July 4th is a sexist holiday neither of which I agree with but it is a real stretch to interpret the above remark as political.

EBFlex calling President Biden “Xiden” is political basically implying our President is a Communist or supporter of China. Maybe EB doesn’t know how to spell and confuses X for B.

As for politics true I am not a Proud Boy, Oath Keepers, Klux Klanner, and Neo Natz so in that respect I am not a Trump supporter more of a Reagan Republican which no longer exist so in the eyes of those Trump supporters I would be a liberal but then I don’t care what a group that stormed the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021 thinks. Don’t really want to get political on this site but there is a big difference in using “Xiden” over and over again as a derogatory name for Biden than “As long as you are male.” But then again David M might be correct as to EB.

        • 0 avatar
          Art Vandelay

If you don’t see how in light of the events of the past week that is clearly political it is because you don’t want to.

So what exactly do you think Skye is referring too?

And for.someone that doesn’t want to get political on this site, you sure.do get political a lot on this site

          • 0 avatar
            Jeff S

@Art–You tell me what Skye is referring to because I don’t see what the hidden meaning is? I don’t bring up politics but EBFlex does and you are now. I come on this site for cars not politics but apparently EB has little interest in cars but much interest in political propaganda. You explain to me what EB means by “Xiden” since you know EB and he is your buddy. Happy July 4 and try to remember what the true meaning of this date is.

          • 0 avatar
            Art Vandelay

Yeah those guys that wrote the Declaration would have never had political discussions online.

And yeah, I’m sure he absolutely wasn’t getting a dig in about Roe vs. Wade.

And you are full of it. You are always jumping into politics on here. If you don’t start it but respond 47 times calling folks “magats” and whatever, you don’t get to take the high road chump.

But do tell, what do you think he was referring to?

          • 0 avatar
            Jeff S

@Art–You need to chill out. You still haven’t told me what Skye’a comment is referring to so I assume you don’t know and are looking for an argument. I cannot see any political interpretation to his nonsensical comment and it is not because I don’t want to and would like to know. Only thing I can see is the reversal of Rowe vs Wade and I don’t have a dog in that fight so it doesn’t mean anything to me. Just chill out and enjoy the 4th.

          • 0 avatar

“I don’t bring up politics but EBFlex does and you are now. I come on this site for cars not politics but apparently EB has little interest in cars but much interest in political propaganda.”

I’m trying to figure out if you lying and being this delusional is just a bit to put us on or if you actually believe what you say.

You *rarely* mention automobiles. Your posts are nothing but political comments and personal attacks. On top of that, you attempt to rewrite history (despite us being able to just simply scroll up and verify your lie) by saying things like (EB starts political discussions). You realize I was the THIRD person to comment on this thread. You realize I was responding to ToolGuy’s post about the cost of a BBQ skyrocketing this year right?

So you can continue to blatantly lie and say that I start everything (I don’t) and that you never talk about anything political (you do all the time) but everyone sees you for what you are.

As for my “Xiden” comment, it’s very simple and you know very well what I mean by it. But, since you need your hand held, I’ll break it down for you:

Biden is not tough on China. He does more to help China (which, I think we can all agree is an evil l, evil country) than he does the US. The president of China (the country that released Covid into the world) is named Xi Jinping.

Now here is where it gets complicated so use your finger to follow along. The second letter in ‘Biden’ is ‘i’. The second letter in ‘Xi’ is ‘i’. See how they are the same? It’s the same letter ‘i’. So by changing the ‘B’ in ‘Biden’ to an ‘X’, I can have the full first name of the president of China (Xi) built right in to the majority of Biden’s name thus creating a fun way to show that Biden is more presidential to China than out own country. He’s working for and with China, helping them, than he is for us. He should be uniting this country and working with every single Luther country on the planet to punish China for releasing Covid on the world. But no, he treats them with kid gloves. Because he’s afraid of China. So, Xiden it is and Xiden it will stay. Joey R does not deserve the respect to have his full, unmolested name used after what he’s done to this country.

Now, anything else I need to break down for you kiddo?

          • 0 avatar
            Art Vandelay

Go back and read slowly Jeff. I literally said it in the above post. Thanks for worrying about what I need to do though, but I’m good.

And you not bringing up politics doesn’t seem to keep you from diving in anytime someone else brings it up. You are as bad as anyone else. Of course I am an @$$hole. I own it. You are an @$$hole.that has yet to come.out.of the closet.
