Progress! It took all the way to the second guess to reveal the identity of the Mitsubishi van. Congratulations yoribe1. Well, it can’t get much worse than that. And I give a pretty distinctive item to look at. Let’s see what happens.

Ed pitched a perfect no-hitter yesterday, with the clue to his hot new love object. And I struck out, once again: the 2002’s distinctive rear tail light trim was instantly identified by vermontwalton, a former owner. I should know better: if you’ve ever washed and waxed a car repeatedly, every detail becomes intimately familiar. So how many out there have rubbed your hands over this detail: does it feel familiar?

Well, my attempt at slowing you down was totally futile. And (to my knowledge), we have a double winner: tklockau won for the second time in a row. Must try harder…but I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve failed again.

Sorry about the small photo, but I’m desperate to slow you guys down. The winner of the Celica Clue was tklockau, who’s guess of a “small bumper (pre-Fed bumper) Celica was close enough, since it appears that the same grille was used through the ’74 models.

Well, the ’61 Lark was called a ’64 Lark by mikey on the first guess. That gives him a share in the honors, but since the ’64 had a fairly different front fender, we’re going to give the win to SOF in training. I’m guessing this one will take at least a wee bit longer, but you guys are amazing.

I just never know: is the clue too easy or too hard. The last one certainly was (too easy), and Educator(of teachers)Dan, who asked for the Fifth Avenue, nailed it within minutes of posting. Hopefully, this one will keep you going a few minutes longer.

Sinisterman called out the K-car, and quite quickly at that. I knew those seat belt holders would be a big give-away. My usual CC gig is now Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I spent Tuesday waiting for a tow truck, deep in the woods. Maybe I’ll tell you about that later. So this is a Saturday make-up session. The classic front bench seat, affording seating for six (well, usually there was a bench in the back too, but not always).  But just how often was it used? My father couldn’t bear to have anyone sit that close to him, so the middle spot in the family Fairlane languished. That’s right, it wasn’t really about family at all, but for your sweetie to slide over and sidle up real close to the man behind the wheel. Did you ever see it the other way around? And with a necker’s knob to go with it, your right hand was never in bind, no matter how tight the corner.

Meanwhile, kudos to DaveWest for nailing the Cimarron, with this well executed comment: A Cadillac Cimarron with the hood medallion removed and modified to accept a stand up wreath & crest which has since been swiped? That would explain the duck (Cadillac) and the horrified expression (Cimarron).

Eggcrates, so many eggcrates. What a popular material to fill in the blank spaces. Now which car did this one come from? As usual, it’s either going to be too easy or too hard. Well, the interior of the Bronco II went fast; talkingtoanimals nailed it on the first guess, but it kept folks guessing for a while. On your mark, get ready, set, go!

Let’s try something a bit different here. This interior shot means that google is not going to be your friend. On the other hand, anyone who’s ever had one will probably recognize it instantly.

The ’81 Cougar grille kept things hopping. One close answer: KitaIkki said “Cougar”. That covers a lot of territory, but he certainly deserves some recognition.

The very difficult indeed Valiant rear vertical trim clue had a very worthy winner in Dr Lemming. Congratulations. Now this is vertical too, and it probably won’t be nearly so difficult. It’s also possible that this fine material was used on more than one car, so we may have multiple correct answers if you can back it up.

I did it! I managed to make the last clue for the ’67 Electra convertible hard enough. Or was it the fact that the red taillight lens looked black because it was in the shade on a bright high-contrast picture? Oh well. You guys gave it quite the effort. Let’s see how you do with this one.
