Hello from snowy and cold Chicago. I hear some of y’all can’t see our most recent articles. No, we didn’t overindulge in auto-show shenanigans last night — we’re simply under attack by the same gremlins that plagued us a few months ago.
These evil, fetid little creatures keep you from seeing our newest posts if you’re not logged in, and some of you may not be getting your email notifications either. We’ve sicced our IT team on the problem, and even if it requires flamethrowers, chainsaws, and heavy artillery, we’ll get the issue sorted.
Thanks for your patience, and if you live within reach of the snow storm that’s socking Chicago, Detroit, and all points in between and nearby, by all means stay safe and dry. And warm.

Back in June, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles faced a problem with its Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. One so significant, in fact, that it briefly stopped production of the vehicle. After recalling all models sold to date to replace faulty inverter diodes, production resumed, ending the problem of hybrid minivans suddenly going dark while underway.
The Pacifica Hybrid’s electrical gremlin appears slayed, but there’s no such luck with the gasoline-only version. Public safety advocates are raising their collective voice following multiple complaints of 2017 Pacificas behaving as if possessed while on the road. (Read More…)
