"Boot'em Bob" Nardelli didn't really need 100 days to be true to his moniker. According to the Detroit Free Press, the former scourge of Home Depot's upper management "team" has started kicking ass and taking names making changes in Chrysler's executive suite. BEB's appointed former office manager to the CEO Andreas Schell to oversee the company's turnaround plan. Office manager? And hang on: isn't that Chrysler President and Vice Chairman Tom LaSorda's turnaround plan? Yes, well, the press release says Schell will report directly to LaSorda and Nardelli. As a wiser man once almost observed, "No office manager can serve two masters." Or, more childishly, Tom Tom go?

I predict the Commander, Aspen, and PT Cruiser will survive longer than LaSorda. Maybe even the Crossfire.
“Tom Tom go” — that’s funny. Much better than the Slimfast or Dodgers jokes I would have gone with.
Of course he’s hired his lackey. Expect many more to follow. That’s how it works. Corporate America: Where we sacrifice promotion through merit for a morally relaxed attitude and hiring based on the buddy system.
Yet another reason (as though we needed one) to not buy a Chryslerebrus.
I had a nice conversation with a Home Depot store manager about Nardelli’s reign of chaos the other day. Let’s just say they he was not held in high regard with the cost cuts that forced the store to reduce key competitive advanages and and change over all compensation packages to performance goals that were too high to consistently meet – forcing most employees to no longer try.
After it was all said and done Home Depot was more damaged and lost many customers to Lowes and back to Ace Hardware where customers could get that personalized service and advice.
“hiring based on the buddy system”
When you’re hiring a hatchet man, you want a guy who can be trusted to not stick the tomahawk in your own back.
I loathe going to either Hell Depot or Blowes. The store smells, the prices suck, they never have what I need, selection sucks. Maybe they have a bunch of stuff, but they don’t have very much of anything. One of these, one of those.
Well, I am eger to see his plan for turning around the Cebrusgroup.
Unlike HD, the automotive industry need R&D and technology plays a vital role in their products.
Without MB to lean on, where will Cebrusgroup gain and develop their technology? Will they outsouce to a foreign company?
Where will they gain their market share?
Will they play hard ball with the UAW and tell them to “suck it”?
All the stories about Nardelli mean nothing to me until I see ansewers to the above questions.
