I bet it has more trunk space then a Solstice / Sky.
I thought they wore red fezzes ? Probably different uniform in Europe.
Obama’s task force is already designing cars?
A Brütsch Mopetta, I believe.
Resembles a Saab 95 I owned in late 60’s, Saab was uglier though.
I want one
I’ll bet this thing gets, at best, the same 45-50 mpg I get on my motorcycle, and I would feel about 100x safer on the bike.
Obviously on his way to the annual microcar show at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Boston

Very well could be. Or could be out on a pleasure cruise near Bruce Weiner’s Microcar museum.
I’m passionate about microcars. When I have a real job and some money (har har har) I would love to pick up a Berkeley four-wheeler.
I am guessing “Mopetta” can be translated as “Pedal More!”.

Nonsense! The 50cc 1-cylinder engine produces an ample 2.3 horsepower.
I wonder how it’d go [flying apart] with some crazy Honda lawnmower engine fitted, making like 8 horses.
I imagine it’s hard to smoke a pipe and pedal hard enough to keep up with traffic.
Who knew bumper cars were legal for road use?
Replacement for the Vette, as designed by a committee of Congress critters.
Apparently photographed at Goodwood in 2006, being piloted by some sporting twit with no regard as to what will happen when he hits a hay bale. Or one of Goodwood’s granite walls. Pipe gets rammed back down the throat, hard. Nasty.
I get the willies just looking at this pic. The vehicle? Crap, like all the 3 wheel microcars of the ’50s, but even more so, as the single wheel is in the front. Betcha it handles real good.
Reminds me of old movies where the side car detaches from the motorcycle
No room for an ashtray, thus the pipe.
That chrome strip really dresses it up, dontcha think?
Does a clown pop out of the front hatch?
He’s out looking for Segways to pick on…..
So if you drive it on a date, you have to attach a trailer?
JB,
It was just a play on words, I know it has an engine. For the modern world, a vespa is a better solution. Driving these little things among our armored personel carrier like compact cars would be nutty. At least the scooters get seen (most of the time).
Still, I think they are cool. I also think that eventually motorcycle classification cars will make a comeback. Just like you say, what if you put use even a 50hp engine and add the weight necessary for more safety? It would seem there are possibilities.

I know, and a very clever one at that.
My friends, for a man to be seen driving a vehicle that small . . . well, let us just say his wife is a very fortunate woman.
This guy lives on my street. The other day he woke me up doing burnouts at 6:00 in the morning.
Only three words necessary:
Add Hayabusa engine.
Awww… the Europeans get all the cool cars.
There was this hilarious part from TopGear where Clarkson borrows a microcar, travels through London, and then actually drives down the corridors in the BBC building to visit some colleagues. The mind likes to boggle when it sees such things.
82.3mph is the current world record for streamlined Human Powered Vehicles.
Mobetta than what?
What’s inside it. The pipe, that is.
