The Chrysler 300 has successfully ruined Rolls’ design scheme.
Luxury brands going downmarket. Has nobody learned from the Cimmaron??
Limos are not supposed to be “baby”-sized; otherwise, they are called “sedans”.
Given that it is still supposed to be around the same size as a bmw 7 series, I am not sure ‘baby’ fits.
To me the biggest problem with the current RR is that the front end is completely out of proportion. The grille is just plain wrong and the headlights are too small and misplaced. The designers should spend many hours just looking a classic rollers.
There is no reason for RR not to have a sedan, but it should be comparable to the BMW 7 and Mercedes S in size, and will cost more than $200K.
It’s funny how BMW has done the MINI so well but with Rolls-Royce they’ve just made a bunch of ugly, vulgar cars. There are some well executed design elements on the modern R-Rs (I like the stainless and teak on the drophead), but their garish front ends and massive bulk seem more to express “I have lots of money” than “I have lots of taste”.
With R-R, BMW has failed to proceed.
