Marketing runs Amarok, as VW exhumes German 80s rockers The Scorpions to promote their new South American pickup.

The scorpions are awesome! Volkswagons in general, not so much….
Scorpions: thumbs up
VW Electrical: thumbs down
Hey, it’s a gig. And it’s nice to know that they’re still marketable.
The Scorpions are dreadful. Even worse than asymmetrical Volswagens.
The Scorpions are German, timeless, and tough. What they are doing pitching junky hairdresser rides is beyond me.
I wonder how well Volkswagen vetted the lyrics…From Rock you like a Hurricane…”the bitch is hungry, she needs to tell…give her inches and feed her well…” That should help sell some cars!! The Scorps rock!! Man, I miss the 80s.
I thought those guys were dead.
Oh, wait a minute… shilling for VW, worse than death.
Well darn! I thought they were bringing back the German dude from the “Unpimp My Ride” series. And that Helga was probably just around the corner. And it’s just the Scorpions. What a bummer, man.
They should have gone with Rammstein.
Defo Rammstein. The whole band wedged into the back of the pickup playing ‘Amerika’
“We’re all living in America, Amerika is wunderbar…” Whilst looking all sweaty and rockish.
VW and the Scorpions…both awful. I just can’t decide which is worse.
They should have gone with Simon & Garfunkle, “I Amarok, I Amanisland”!
Or, inspired by their products’ iffy quality, by Morris Major and the Minors and their classic hit “Stutter Rap”
I take it Kraftwerk and KMFDM were unavailable. You know, if you’re going to have an industrial truck, you might as well have some industrial music.
Ugh, do not want. At least the ad agency had the sense to avoid using “Winds of Change” as the theme song.
@Happy_Endings: Kraftwerk, industrial? Nein!
You can really see the Dodge Magnum in this VW’s face. Must come from the Routan’s side of the family.
