With a brand new BMW 3 Series in development, BMW has updated the current-generation coupe and convertible. Or has it? Say what you want about the Bangle era, in those days a mid-cycle refresh was a mid-cycle refresh.

New headlights, new grill, different mirrors and LED tailligts. And I’m guessin that’s a new red color. Did I miss something else?
Unless they managed to find a way to drop 500lbs it’s still not going to earn my cash.
This update has the new N55 non-twin turbo, for simplicity! And now it looks closer to the new 5s and 7. I love BMW!
the 335i is dead on 3,300lb
that’s light enough for me
Its more like 3600 for the sedan and coupe, 4000 for the vert. At least until you remove the 100 pound runflats :)
I like the looks of it. Can’t speak to what’s inside…
It’s a pity that BMW is moving to the N55 on the 3 series even though they are sticking with the N54 for cars such as the Z4 35is. However you spin the move (valvetronic blah, blah, blah), the N54 is a much more tunable engine (which is probably half the reason they moved to the N55).
n54 is sticking around.
BMW is also going to have a 335is coupe. tweaking it up ~20 hp/20ftlb of torque. with
Shame about those fuel pumps though. Did they spec a more reliable part for the N55 or are they going to limp along until the next gen?
Looking more and more like an Accord or a Camry.

That’s a clean design, not ugly or offensive in the least. Blandness has never hurt sales.
I have to agree. The 3-series coupe is the least of BMW’s problems design-wise. I like the old side mirrors better but the refresh looks good overall.
They junked iDrive, removed the turn signal stalk since it never gets used anyway, added a free case of hair gel with every purchase, and cut $20,000 from the price. Not really.
Hey, another BMW with Munich plates photographed in Arizona, this one on the road to Mt. Lemmon outside Tucson. Seismic shift?
In this era of BMW Gran Tourismos and other such abortions, this tasteful and modest update is most welcome.
