Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer of the Porsche 911, died today in Salzburg.
His parents called him “Butzi.” Amongst his colleagues, the son of „Ferry“ Porsche was known as “F.A. Porsche.” He left Porsche in 1972 to start Porsche Design, a company that created watches, pens, lighters and a multitude of other products.

He had a full and productive life just as his father did. I suspect that his last decade may have been rough as he watched Porsche AG degenerate into a BMW wannabe.
Does anyone know if he had sons that are still with the company?
Per Wikipedia, he has one son, Ferdinand Oliver Porsche, who “is a German lawyer and member of the Supervisory Board of the German sports car manufacturer Porsche”.
This man is directly responsible for perverting my mind with Porsche before I could even walk.
Still a life-long goal to own an air-cooled 911 at some point.
Even though it is an entirely overused term, the 911 is a truly iconic automobile, one of the very few. The world is much better for Ferdinand’s contribution.Thank you, F.A.
Regarding the hover caption for the lower photo: Are the two boys brothers or cousins?
Cousins:

Wasn’t he also involved in the design of the Porsche 904?
If by “involved” you mean “solely responsible for the styling of”, then yes.
