Chinese customers will be able to help themselves to not one but two long-wheelbase Infiniti M sedans., just in case up-and-coming plutocrats don’t want an Audi A6L.
At 5.9 inches longer than the standard car, customers will be able to choose from the Infiniti M25L (with the 2.5L 232 horsepower V6) or the M35hL with 360 horsepower. Both cars will have reclining rear seats, sunshades and an entertainment system, as well as auto-closing rear doors and trunk. Unfortunately, there’s no way to stop the incessant beeping of the M’s electronic nannies.

Panamerish looking, but with a less pronounced dowager’s hump.
I’m really starting to like the Chinese simply because of their love of long wheel-base models. Why on Earth we can not get these here in the States is beyond me.
I was thinking about that yesterday when getting to borrow a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL (with the triple blade razor grille) that car had some of the best rear seat room this side of a Town Car, Buick Lucerne, or Cadillac DTS. It seems like if you want a NEW car with loads of leg room you have to buy a Jaguar Vanden Plas or a blinged out SUV. With the 2010 restyle of the Taurus they made it more claustrophobic just to make it more stylish.
Forgive me, I’m just part of that minority of Americans who want leg room AND a sedan without shelling out $50,000 for the privilege.
Very much agreed, I think an extended Lacrosee would sell well, as it is it looks like it has weight problem why not spread it out a bit.
VW Passat.
Passat could work… do you hear us Germans?

I think the best combo for you is probably Toyota Avalon.
If you need legroom, why not go with FWD? The handling of Toyota Avalon may not be spectacular. But you don’t care about that if you are sitting in the back seat anyway.
In the United States, the person making the purchasing decision on the vehicle is typically sitting in the front row. In China just about anyone buying a luxury car can also afford a driver.
If I have too much money and I’m going to sit in Chinese traffic, an extended wheelbase isn’t enough for me… I want one of those four door Fleetwood Seventy Fives.

That ’69 looks hot
I loved it too, back when Cadillac still built Cadillacs.
Odd looking.
Panamera did it better
Who cares? Thanks to China, every freaking car has a long wheelbase version. Is it even worth reporting anymore?
Yes, once the Fiat 500 and the Smart get LWB versions.
Look at the success Mercedes had back in the 80s with their S-class sedans. The longer version (SEL not SE) gave the sedan a very elegant look. I have a 1987 300SDL which, IMHO, still carries itself with a regal presence.
That would be the first Japanese car I’d buy, gorgeous with proper options.
Shame it won’t come here, i’m done importing cars…
When did you import cars? Never heard that story.
