Also in Beijing, there are product specialists who explain technical features of each car. They will do that in Chinese, or, if they are blond, in Russian. Here is a comprehensive pictorial of the most capable product specialists of the Beijing Auto Show.

And now: Can you spot the car?

“My company is not the battery maker in China. We are known as the specialist in Kei cars. This is a range extended version of a car that is very popular in India.”
“My company was in trouble. Then two brothers from India saved us. We don’t have many new cars at the moment, but we have a great team.”
“More enthusiastic team members.”
“My company got into hot water. They said we copied a Ford truck. Then they put our booth next to Ford. We have to make it up with enthusiasm.”
“We assure you: Nothing fake here. All real.”
“Company from France. Car from Korea. Specialist from China.”
“We are receptionists. May we help you?”
“My company has the same name as a machine gun.”
“You probably never heard of my company.”
“I assist members of the media with their reporting.”
“What can I assist you with today?”
“My company’s name starts with a ‘Gee!'”
“Get out of our dressing room, pervert!”
“We have product that is usually in short supply in China.”
“My company is from Japan. People say they lost touch. Not true!”
“We run a special today: Two cultures for the price of one!”
“We work for a family-oriented company.”

Very nice…
The question that occurred to me while looking at the couple in-front of the Buick: “The tri-sheild hanging on the wall is colored in, is it that way on Chinese Buicks? I don’t recall seeing the shields be more than chrome representations on North American Buicks for quite some time.
Good eye. I never got past the shiny outfits, especially that chromed suit.
Seems to be a colored tri-shield

Buick logos don’t have the colors any more? Dang, I’m gonna have to look closer at the next one I see.
Next thing you’re gonna tell me the Cadillac shield doesn’t have ducks any more. What? Nooooo.
Ha, no the NA market Buicks lost the color in their tri-shields and went with a chrome outline. I think it occurred with every new product launch (Lucerne, Lacrosse, Enclave) and the older models with colored logos kept them until the model was phased out. I could be incorrect though. I know the Enclave I got as a rental after a car accident 2 years ago had all chrome logos.

That sucks. Tri-sheild is RED, WHITE, and BLUE. Dang it GM you took Pontiac from us you can at least keep the Buick logo looking like it should.
What I was trying to figure out was if CHINESE Buicks get tri colored logos. But if the answer is affirmative then I’ll just fly into a rage…
I didn’t even notice that Cadillac dropped the trios of merlettes that represented the Holy Trinity. Just as well. They can’t have been comfortable on any Cadillacs of the past 35 years.
Thank you Bertel !
Totally Brilliant !!!
Oh Bertel, now some of your righteous reader heads are going to explode!
Less crappy irrelevant Chinese cars – more girls, please.
Is it just me or do the girls in the first picture look like a bunch of 1920’s hookers?
I wouldn’t know. Did not meet Chinese hookers in 1920.
I know a place in Shanghai where they will dress up for you like that. It’s across the street from a place my wife likes to shop. You can see them gretting people through the front door dressed like that.
I think it’s hilarious. My wife is always asking me, “why would men pay for women to dress up like that?”. I haven’t answered that question yet.
Okay..My vote goes to photo #3…or maybe #2…?
Mr. Schmitt, I envy you!
Give me a 5’10 chinese girl 175 lbs in a Qi Pao and i’ll gladly move back to Shanghai and live out the rest of my days :p
And yes all the Buicks here still have color in their emblems. NA market ones dont? not even the new regal/lacrosse?
That makes me a sad puppy, I think we are taking too much color out of vehicles and turning them into soulless appliances.
where is the girl with the fabulous ears?
“We have product that is usually in short supply in China.”
I am married to a Taiwanese woman and got a good chuckle out of this one.
If these are NSFW you must work someplace really lame. Yawn. The “receptionists” look like they are bridesmaids at a wedding.
I assure you, it’s all very controversial in Iran.
And, judging from comments regarding to ears, in certain parts of America.
Nice! Reminds me of Sam Kinison’s line, “How can a man look at another man’s hairy *** and find love?”
Where’s the broad with big ears?
