Patrick Pelata is leaving Renault. This a year after the former Chief Operating Officer took the fall over the spy scandal.
“Patrick Pelata is leaving the company” effective August 16, spokeswoman Raluca Barb told Reuters. “He has decided to pursue his career outside the alliance.”
After he had stepped down as COO of Renault, Pelata managed the Renault-Nissan Alliance, a job with not much firepower.
Leaving aside the “David” typo, I can’t figure out if this guy is Patrick or Patrice. The French media calls him Patrice, but he seems to go by Patrick as well. I will try to think up a bizarre conspiracy theory to explain this, involving Lyndon LaRouche and Bane from the Batman movie. I mean Bain. I mean, Bane. Aztek. No, Aztec. Aztek? Siena? Sienna? Maybe I should quit while I am ahead…
Oh great, now I find him as Patrick Pélata. With an accent. Maybe he is actually Basque, Pelota. I quit.
Patrick Pelata on quality back when he worked at Nissan:
“Does it matter if the door handle lasts 10 years or 20? No, it does not, because the person will not have the car after 10 years.”
Good riddance.
