Someone posted this photo, presumably of the production Cadillac ELR. We won’t be the first to break an embargo but the cat’s out of the bag…

The old, “We won’t be first…but we won’t be third.”
good looking car.
That is what electric cars were supposed to look like. Still not convinced the Volt is the right technology, but this does it proud. Too bad I only buy old used cars…
I guess you’re not really breaking the rules if it isn’t a real photo.
Yeah, when did computer generated images become photos. Kids these days!
Looks really nice.
Question: Is the high beltline all the new cars have because of safety regs? Or just a design trend?
Probably a bit of both, at this point.
Pretty, though odd to me. It has the proportions of an R/C car. Very youthful. I’m not sure I want my Cadillacs to look that youthful. It’s hard to make the case that you’re a fine brandy through all that bling.
Great looking car, much better looking than Volt. Give it a $399 lease deal and I would be very interested depending on content compared to Volt.
So, it doesn’t look like a 1989 Ford Probe any more?
Nope – now that you can see the whole thing – it sure doesn’t. The lines they showed in the side teaser screamed ’89 Probe to me (which isn’t a bad thing from a roof line and belt line stand point) but this is a really attractive coupe.
Have to see specs, pricing, and learn about how it drives. This could be a really nice multi-purpose commuter/long haul coupe.
Assuming this is really the ELR (and Derek says it is), that was my point back then.

This will be very expensive vehicle. I wouldn’t think multi-purpose commuter/long haul coupe.
I’m guessing 52k and very limited availability.

Uh . . . Isn’t that the concept ELR?
I think this is a good technological display for GM/Cadillac, though I question the styling. It might just be the angle, but the car looks a bit too stubby, almost like the CTS coupe.
This is probably the best looking Cadillac ever. Reminds me of the Acura RSX. I like the diagonal body line that goes from the front bumper to the top of the tailights.
Oooo, that’s fancy.
It looks very good. Just right, in fact, at least from that angle.
This is the kind of design that makes you look back and catch a second glance just like passing a beautiful woman. Very clean artsy-fartsy styling that will withstand the test of time.
GM was very gutsy to create a higher end PHEV with only 2 doors. This smacks conventional thinking right in the face.
Looks great but when it comes time to make a buying decision? I prefer visibility when I drive, so its a no.
Do the kids in the marketing department not realize that we can tell the difference between a photo and a photoshop drawing of the car? Give me real photos!!
Absolutely “added” to my “I just hit the Powerball” list.
I hate the styling of the Volt, but I damn well LOVE this. I’ll seriously consider it when my lease is up..
Very nice-looking car. I’m impressed they were able to hew so close to the concept…perhaps a lesson learned after how different (and worse) the Volt production car looked compared to the sleeker concept.
I to think that the cars is a stunner however, a 300 mile range as reported by Edmund’s is a deal killer for me. I will just take the CTS coupe V series, more range more power same money. 70k from what I understand.
A 300 mile range before filling it with fuel and soldering on is a deal killer for you?
You just described almost all the cars I’ve ever driven.
According to sources its 300 miles combined..that is not impressive at all.
No kidding. CTS-V Coupe has a combined EPA rating of 14 with an 18 gallon tank.
Range=252 miles.
Does Chocolatedeath realize that you can refill the ELR and keep driving?
Yeah having to actually touch those icky fuel pumps sure puts a damper on your drive through the Hamptons.
Yeah seriously, it’s like those Rush Limbaugh-types who thought the Volt could only go 40 miles, period.
My that’s a nice ElDorado there. I especially like the twisty wheels.
But are they ever going to move along from the Sixteen and Ciel concepts – really?
I don’t get it… They put the most practical powertrain in the least practical body? Yup, sure sounds like GM to me.
Have you driven a Honda CR-Z? The practicality of that car is zero. But at least that makes it unique and interesting.
