Steph’s been locked in his sweltering Ottawa apartment, heat wave after heat wave, for weeks now. To give him some respite, we’ve sent him to British Columbia to enjoy some Korean luxury.
No, that’s not an oxymoron — at least, we don’t think it is. Steph will clarify in a few days when we reports back on the Equus Genesis G90.
In Steph’s place will be TTAC’s own Timothy Cain running his digits over the digital ivories.
Tim’s under strict orders not to talk about sales six times a day — but Tim’s a wild man, and he might mutiny and roll out a statistical deathwatch analysis of midsize cars again.
Anyway, Tim’s a trooper, and he’s here for a good time, not a long time. So have a good time, because Tim’s brilliance can’t shine on TTAC everyday. Oh, wait, yes it does.

Did I make that promise? No, I did not.
More crossover sales reports of the Encore and HR-V!
Mark,
Perhaps it would be nice if the B&B gets a little intro auction form the mystery writers who sho up from time to time, not Tim , but we have seen folks drop in and never have any idea where they came from or if they one and done here.
Yeah, and where’s Alex?
TTAC and Alex have parted ways. Alex is focusing more on his YouTube channel and we will be hiring another person soon.
:O
Thanks for filling us in, though. Tim can just be Alex and Steph.
I’m sure you meant to type “trouper”, not “trooper”…
Does this mean Tim’s ride of the week is a bright white sports car?
Chrysler LeBaron?
bright

A Chrysler LeBaron is somewhere between 0-2 of these things.
It’s got a cup holder armrest.
I assume Cincinnati is just a little too far from the border for you to be impacted by CanCon radio regulations, and both Mark’s and my Trooper (the band, not Isuzu) reference are completely lost on you?
I always pictured a C3 Corvette was the ride of choice for Jack of All Trades Sam and Jerry the garbage-man.
Indeed, I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
He’s referring to this song by Trooper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71TRnVtOTkE
Mine was a song too! :D
Honestly, I’ve been told the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is departing and a Chevrolet Spark (no A/C, crank windows) will appear in its place. Not for the usual one-week stay but for a fortnight. Current real feel temperature: 84°F.
That’s timely. I’ve been looking for a no-option Spark review…
Who do they think they are? And where did they get that car?
It looks like a Kia Amanti with a Ford Fusion grille, and a Chrysler badge on the hood.
The Koreans should stop copying design elements from everyone else, and make something unique, original and classic. Or at least make form follow function, then give it a little style.
This thing will only sell on financing, because there is nothing else special about it, unless you are a fan of large diagonal LEDs where they aren’t needed.
They did make something unique. It was called the last-generation Sonata. Then Hyundai completely redesigned it.
Kia is making some handsome gear, though.
I saw a Soul on Saturday at the grocery – white with red line GTI sport pack type thing. That looked pretty clean.
You know, the Soul is probably the only H/K product (sold in North America) I give two sh¡Г§ about. Its funky and different, its practical and its affordable. Seems like a winner.
I see more of them than any other Kia, with Optima running a close second. I haven’t seen a Kia Dog, I mean K9, I mean K900 in person yet.
If you are making fun of the “kia dog” your picking on the wrong car. It’s the hyundai horse f—er version of that same model that really earns the laughs.
Hyundai, supporting heinous horse f–kery since 2009.
I think they should add AWD as option to the Soul immediately. That’s my only real suggestion for them – otherwise I don’t really have any complaints about the Soul. Add AWD and watch sales go through the roof.
I also feel that like the Flex, the restyle was done very appropriately, and well.
Hyundai goes back and forth on the Sonata. One generation will be styled to catch the eye of Americans, then the next will be toned down to satisfy conservative Koreans.
Ottawa & heat wave?
It looks like they peaked at 34 C (93 F). That’s rough.
