Hello from snowy and cold Chicago. I hear some of y’all can’t see our most recent articles. No, we didn’t overindulge in auto-show shenanigans last night — we’re simply under attack by the same gremlins that plagued us a few months ago.
These evil, fetid little creatures keep you from seeing our newest posts if you’re not logged in, and some of you may not be getting your email notifications either. We’ve sicced our IT team on the problem, and even if it requires flamethrowers, chainsaws, and heavy artillery, we’ll get the issue sorted.
Thanks for your patience, and if you live within reach of the snow storm that’s socking Chicago, Detroit, and all points in between and nearby, by all means stay safe and dry. And warm.

You have an IT team? :-)
You mean the one who didn’t sell any energy drink ads on the “drowsy driving” piece?
Epic fail. (Mic drop)
If only you had tech-Matadors in your system. Much more visual appealing.
But then they’d be in Barcelona, and we don’t speak Espaniol.
You could request a translator from the office of the Ambassador.
He’s probably unavailable — he’s in the Javelin competition at a track meet, or he’s washing dishes at the restaurant to pay for last night’s dinner after his AMX card was declined; he was too Jeep! Or he’s still in Philly celebrating the Eagles victory!
(And I’m still cold-sober! What will I do for an Encore?)
Luckily I didn’t ramble on after a few glasses of suds!
I’m not sure! Its just too exciting!
Classic.
Just Classic.

What’s a Matador?
Oops, I just sent you guys an e-mail about this problem. I didn’t read this post until after I had clicked the send button.
We still always appreciate the heads up.
Hey, I fixed it by going into my profile and changing my password, just did it a few minutes ago!
Just keeping the site from randomly crashing or running incredibly slow on an iPhone would be a huge win.
Good luck!
It’s the iOS system. I have the same problems with a iOS 11.3 iPad Air I am forced to use if someone else is using my desktop or Sony Vaio laptop.
The iOS problem is not limited to just ttac. Got the same problem on several other sites.
Odd. This is the only site I have an issue with.
Ditto. Every browser I have works, but you slag on iOS?
You need to fix that crap.
Written on an iPad Pro Mini. Not gen 1.
Garrett, besides ttac I’ve experienced crashes, using Safari, with Dishnetwork TV streaming, ESPN scores and live action streaming, mlb.com live action streaming, UPI.com, APNews.com and Reuters.com.
When visiting MSN.com with iOS and Safari, I cannot exit from the site unless I multi-finger swipe 10-15 times. Pain in the @ss.
If I use an APP from the Apple Store, no problems. With only 16gigs I maximize the use of Safari – not APPs.
I don’t know if ttac has an iOS APP. I don’t visit ttac that often any more.
How do you run iOS on an Air? Shouldn’t you be on MacOS 10.13.3? You aren’t helping the problem. I’ve never seen an Air on iOS, and we own about 10-12 in my company.
iOS 11.3 is in beta 2 mode, and it doesn’t run on a MacBook Air.
I screwed up. It’s iOS 11.2.5 on my iPad Air.
The 11.3 is the Beta my son is testing for BGR.
Sorry. I double checked, just now.
The site is near unreadable on iOS. For me the issue is the page jumps down after a few seconds, especially if I’m looking at the comments.
Even if this is an iOS-specific challenge, that’s half the market for phones and probably more for tablets. Best to figure out a way to play nice with iOS as it is or raise hell with Apple until they fix the bug.
Page jumps and slow-loads are common with iOS 11.3 on my iPad Air.
Never do any web surfing on our iPhone, but use it as the hotspot for the iPad. Especially when traveling on road trips.
For voice-phone use, my wife and I prefer the Samsung Galaxy 5. Never experienced any problems with Android, even going to Europe, Israel, Mexico and Canada.
Other than [sometimes painfully] slow load times, I’ve not noticed any issues.
As an enterprise IT guy, I wish you techies the best. Keep them fed.
The photo of the AMC Gremlin was taken at Greenfield Village.

Without a doubt, the worst traction conditions I’ve ever experienced short of an ice storm. My car was dancing at nowhere near the speed limit. Seemingly perfect conditions to create a thin layer of ice just about the entire distance from Chicago to Detroit. I’ve never seen so many vehicles in the ditch, many of them before 1st responders got there. Folks think AWD really will let them defy the laws of physics. No, you can’t defy the laws of physics, that’s why we call them laws. Yes, they’ll let you pull 1+ Gs on the skid pad but they’ll also put you in the ditch.
We had similar conditions in Quebec where a 50-car pile up happened. Tons of people with AWD trucks and SUVs in the ditch.
As I was crawling at 30km/h with zero visibility I wondered how exactly an algorithm will be able to drive in those conditions?
Was not a fun drive into downtown Toledo yesterday morning, on the southern fringes of the worst weather!
After coming too close for comfort to another car at a stoplight (letting-off the brake pedal when ABS is fully engaged and the car still sliding, and giving the pedal a couple good kicks, sometimes gets me to a quicker stop), I managed to gracefully pirouette a 180-degree turn around a corner while having the throttle fully-floored, and the TC/ESC unable to get a bite, the throttle completely cut by the system! (It doesn’t help that my tires are almost in need of replacement!)
I am using a Samsung S5 and I have been experiencing article load issues.
I have been logged in and not logged in.
it only seems to affect 1 or 2 articles not all of them at once
As a graphic designer and motorhead, I find it somewhat odd to find pics of old cars on stock photography sites. For the longest time, I had to find alternate sources of old car pix, now I can just buy them.
And yes, I would rock that Gremmy. With the V8, they were all kinds of under- and oversteering fun…
Gremlin! Still one of the ugliest cars ever! And every S/CUV’s D-pillar is a riff on this!
To me, the worst car I’ve ever driven. I had one as a rental in 1972, It made a Pinto feel like a Mercedes S Class.
If I go to the main page it always brings me to the “Cheapskate” article from the 8th as the newest post however if I click “News” tab it brings up newer posts if that helps anyone
I always hit the logo at the top of the page, otherwise I know it’s old.
I don’t know squat, but my company holds about 50-60TB of major label music and our stuff loads or we get fired. If you need some help, let me know.
I’ve a different issue: when I’m using my tablet (Lenovo Yoga YT3-X50F, running Android OS 6) and I’m trying o read some article (especially car review, but occasionally a regular story) I can’t read it! As I’m not able to scroll up or down. Same thing happens when I click on “Read more” or on comments.
It does in on this site only. And not on every story, but quite often. I’ve tried to use a different browser – no luck.
Having problems with the Nissan Titan story today.
the problem is back today 2/13/18
