The F150 Lightning is actually pretty impressive, and this is coming from someone who, in 60 years, has never owned a Ford nor owned a pick up truck. They were smart for including two relatively large power inverters for supplying AC operated tools, appliances, or even home backup.
Kudo’s to Ford for building it. It appears they designed, engineered & manufactured a very nice electric PU truck. I like the fact that it pretty much looks like an ICE F150. I think that was smart move on Ford’s part. The biggest thing holding it back is todays current battery tech.
I suspect it may be a no brainer for commercial fleet use. May make a lot of sense for farmers as well. For guys like me that use their truck to regularly tow the toys long distances into rural areas it will fall short far too often to be considered a practical alternative to an ICE powered PU.
Regardless, I’m anxious to see how well these sell and to who they sell to.
